Bill Thompson, Jr. has served since 2010 as a Partner and the Chief Administrative Officer at Siebert Cisneros Shank & Co., a full-service investment firm. The company ranked as the #1 Minority and Women-Owned Business (M/WBE) firm in public finance from 1998 to 2015 and was the first M/WBE firm to be ranked in the top 10 for public finance senior managed transactions.
Since 2016, Bill has served as the Governor-appointed Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The City University of New York. He serves on the Board’s Executive Committee and its Sub committee on Investment. Elected to two consecutive terms as Comptroller of the City of New York starting in 2002, Bill managed the 5th largest pension fund in the United States. He has also served five terms as President of the NYC Board of Education, the nation’s largest school system; Chairman of the New York State Housing Finance Agency; Chairman of the State of New York Mortgage Agency; and Chair of the state’s M/WBE Task Force.
A product of New York City public schools, Bill graduated from Tufts University with a B.A. in Political Science. He is a Trustee Emeritus of Tufts University.
